Catherine getting US release in July, according to now-removed GameStop listing
Our block-pushing dreams were crushed when Atlus denied plans for a Western release... perhaps we should uncrush them?
Atlus turned all of our emoticon's parentheses into open parentheses when it declared that it currently had "no plans" to release Catherine outside of Japan. A GameStop product page, however, apparently disagrees. The page, which has since been removed, briefly listed what appears to be an Atlus USA localization of the game, pegging it with a July 26 release date.
GameStop is both a notorious leaker of early information and notorious maker-upper-of-whatever-it-wants, so we can't say whether or not the listing is accurate. All we know is that we want it to be, because Catherine demands further investigation.
As we mentioned in our previous article, it makes little sense to us that Atlus would choose to keep a bestselling, multiplatform game exclusively to Japan. So will Catherine be released in North America and Europe? We don't know for sure, but we're inclined to think that it will, no matter what Atlus says to make our faces sad.
At the time of this article's writing, the GameStop product page was still cached by Google.
