Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in line for Guys And Dolls?
Fox remaking the classic musical
Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt could be about to get their song and dance on, with Fox reportedly zeroing in on the pair to head up a remake of classic musical Guys And Dolls .
Deadline reports that Fox has closed a deal to secure the film rights to a new version of the Frank Loesser musical, something of a coup given the amount of studios to have tried and failed to strike a deal with the Loesser estate.
And while there is no director or screenwriter attached as yet, studio heads are thought to have identified Tatum and Gordon-Levitt as the leading men to bring this version to life, with Deadline claiming the interest is mutual.
Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra starred in MGM's 1955 adaptation as wiseguys Sky Masterson and Nathan Detroit, parts we'd assume Tatum and Gordon-Levitt would fill respectively.
Long-time friends off-screen, both actors recently took part in a Seth MacFarlane musical number at the Oscars and acquitted themselves rather well. If Fox can pull it off, they could turn out to be quite the double-act…
