Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams star in The Vow trailer

The first trailer for weepie romance The Vow has arrived online for your viewing pleasure.

Its stars have previous form with this kind of thing, and the promo is keen to remind you that Channing Tatum starred in Dear John and Rachel McAdams was in The Notebook .

Surprisingly though, this isn't based on a novel by schmaltz-master Nicholas Sparks.

It plays out like a serious 50 First Dates , as a car accident gives Paige (McAdams) a bout of amnesia, meaning her hubbie Leo (Tatum) has to win her heart all over again.

While there's nothing groundbreaking in the trailer, it targets its very specific audience like a keenly eyed romantic sniper.

Check it out for yourself below:

The Vow is released on 10 February 2012. Let's hope it's more The Notebook than Dear John ….
