Charlize says no to Casino
Hunt for Bond girl continues
For all those 007ers who were salivating at the thought of it... Forget it, it’s not happening. Charlize Theron has apparently turned down the chance to line up alongside new Bond Daniel Craig in director Martin Campbell’s vision of Casino Royale.
Campbell stated himself that the role wasn’t going to be that of a typical Bond girl, so it needed an actress of a certain calibre. Theron’s name was mentioned along with Angelina Jolie but no one has scribbled on the dotted line.
The English tabloid press now suggest that with shooting slated to begin in January, Campbell and producers Eon have only a month to find the right woman to play Vesper Lynd; described by Campbell as “The ultimate Bond girl.”
