Chiwetel Ejiofor to play villain in Bond 24?
Thought to be top of MGM / Sony’s hit-list
Chiwetel Ejiofor is the hot favourite to play the villain in the new Bond film, with Variety reporting that the star is top of MGM and Sony’s wish list.
No official offer has been made as yet, and scheduling issues would need to be worked out, but according to the report, Ejiofor is very much the studio’s first choice.
With Javier Bardem having worked out so well last time out, producers are thought to be keen to bring another dose of Oscar-nominated gravitas to Bond’s nemesis, with Ejiofor certainly boasting the screen presence to do the job.
Daniel Craig will be returning to play 007 for a fourth time, with Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw also set for a return to duty.
Directed by Sam Mendes, Bond 24 is set to begin production this summer, ahead of an official UK release date of 23 October 2015.
