Chlo Moretz incredibly moving in Carrie role
So says co-star Judy Greer
If you were worried that director Kimberly Pierce’s Carrie remake would forgo the emotion of Brian De Palma’s classic in pursuit of modern-day thrills, fear not – according to actress Judy Greer, we’re in for a hell of a ride.
The Californication actress plays Mrs Desjardin in the film, presumably a character similar to Miss Collins in the 1976 film .
She spoke to E! about the Carrie reboot, which is shooting at the moment in Toronto, and praised Chloë Grace Moretz for her performance as the titular psychic.
“Chloë’s performance - and this is literal - has brought me to tears on set,” Greer says. “She's made me cry because I find her performance to be incredibly moving. I'm feeling a lot of compassion for her.”
The actress’ praise extended to her director, who she says is making a film that’s “kind of beautiful. It's really totally jarring and creepy but also in a strange way gorgeous.”
It’ll be interesting to see how this pans out, not least because De Palma’s film still holds up today (suits and hair aside). We’ll find out how the Carrie remake measures up when it stalks into cinemas on 12 April 2013.
