Chocks away for Flyboys
A battle clip appears online from the World War One flight flick
When producer Dean Devlin was trying his best to promote his new World War One film Flyboys at Comic-Con this year, his chief weapon was some impressive-looking footage of the magnificent men in their flying machines taking on the enemy.
Now Yahoo Movies has secured a clip, which sees our heroes – including Spider-Man’s James Franco and The Ring’s Martin Henderson – jumping into their planes to swap lead with the German flying aces.
The movie’s plot follows the adventures of the Lafayette Escadrille, a group of young Americans who volunteered for the French military before the States entered World War One, and became the country's first fighter pilots.
The footage certainly boasts some impressive shots, with digital planes strafing each other, even as a few clichés slip in (yes, someone really does look at a picture of their sweetheart as they worry they’ve been shot).
