Chris Pine faces the elements in The Finest Hours trailer
Disney has unveiled the first trailer for The Finest Hours, a real-life drama based on the heroic efforts of a four-man U.S. Coast Guard team. The story is inspired by true events that took place in 1952, when the small crew set out to retrieve the 30 survivors of a sinking oil tanker off the coast of Cape Cod.
Chris Pine leads the quartet who venture out into one of the worst storms to ever hit the Eastern seaboard. Their perilous rescue mission is somewhat hampered by their own vessel -- a tiny wooden boat. If you thought Clooney and co. had it bad in The Perfect Storm, that's nothing compared to what this crew has to face. Check out the first teaser below:
There's no mistaking that this is a go-big-or-go-home man vs. nature tale of survival. From the gigantic waves pummeling the trapped sailors to Pine's fiance pleading for his safe return, Disney's angling for one helluva heart-wrenching experience.
Directed by Craig Gillespie and co-starring Eric Bana, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster and Holliday Granger, The Finest Hours opens on January 29, 2016.
