Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams to star in next Tim Burton project
Burton confirmed to direct Big Eyes
Tim Burton’s next project Big Eyes is beginning to take shape, with Deadline reporting that the Gothic maestro is confirmed for the director’s chair while Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams are in line to play the leads.
The duo are set to play Walter and Margaret Keane in the new movie, a pair of artists who became famous in the ‘60s for their wide-eyed portrayals of women and children.
All went well to begin with, until Margaret (the real talent) grew tired of playing second fiddle while her husband hogged the acclaim, only for him to dismiss her as a fantasist.
Ryan Reynolds and Reese Witherspoon had initially been pencilled in for the leading roles, but we’d say Waltz and Adams make for a far more intriguing duo.
It sounds like one of the more interesting projects Burton has been attached to in recent years, and with the script being written by Ed Wood scribes Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, we’ve got high hopes for this one. Production begins this summer…
