Christopher Nolan comments on Ben Afflecks Batman casting
“I thought ‘how thrilling!’”
Christopher Nolan has been speaking about his remaining links to Warner’s DC universe, and has told The Daily Beast what he made of Ben Affleck’s casting in Batman v Superman …
“I’m only involved in that project in an advisory capacity as an executive producer, so I’m not involved in the day-to-day,” says Nolan. “When they told me that Ben was interested in doing it, I thought, ‘How thrilling!’”
“This is the guy who just won Best Picture as a director and as an actor, and I thought it would be a great thing that he’d be willing to do this. I think the guy is incredibly talented and I’m very excited to see what Zack and Ben do together.”
Indeed, much of the initial hysteria that greeted Affleck’s casting has gradually died down over the intervening months, but it’s still nice to hear a backer of Nolan’s calibre getting behind him…
Directed by Snyder and co-starring Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg and Gal Gadot, Batman v Superman will open in the UK on 25 March 2016.
