Christopher Nolan mounts an IMAX camera to a Learjet for Interstellar
Expect some stunning visuals
Christopher Nolan may not be much of an advocate of 3D filmmaking, but he has long been a fan of shooting in IMAX, with The Dark Knight Rises including about an hour’s worth of footage in the large-screen format.
And from the looks of the latest on-set images from upcoming film Interstellar , it seems as though Nolan is exploring how to push the technology further than ever before…
The main problem with IMAX cameras is that they are big, noisy and extremely unwieldy to shoot with. However, Nolan seems to have found a way to counteract all that by strapping his to the nose of a Learjet!
Needless to say, the resulting footage promises to be rather spectacular. If you were blown away by the opening sequence of The Dark Knight Rises , expect more of the same here…
Directed by Nolan and starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and a whole host of others, Interstellar will open in the UK on 7 November 2014.
