Code Vein trailer proves that yes, it's totally Anime Bloodborne - just look at these clips
The first crop of screenshots for Code Vein made us suspect very strongly that Bandai Namco's next game was, in fact, Anime Bloodborne. Now the first trailer settles it. What we are looking at here is a game with Bloodborne/Dark Souls style combat, carried out by ridiculously good looking anime characters and bizarre monsters. Now let's establish the exact ratio of the two by making some A-to-B comparisons (that is, Anime-to-Bloodborne).
Anime
Fortunately, years of watching anime have inured me to the corrosive asininity of a statement like "eyes reflecting darkness brighter than light".
Bloodborne
Roll to win!
Anime
Giant creepy sexy spear lady. More like Attack on T&A, am I right?
Bloodborne
Succumbing to bloodlust and becoming a monster? Yep, that's Bloodborne-y.
Anime
His Tokyo Ghoul mask is made out of magic leather straps. C'mon.
Bloodborne
Really, it doesn't get much more Bloodborne than overextending for a heavy attack and being harshly punished for it.

The clips speak for themselves. If you're all aboard for Animeborne, you can play it starting in 2018. Until then, remember the pre-anime days with our list of the 15 greatest Dark Souls bosses.
I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
