And on Thursday 21 July at 6:30pm the place to be at Comic-Con is room four in the convention centre, because that's where the SFX panel is taking place.
"So, you want to be a sci-fi journalist?"
For many, working as a sci-fi journalist on a magazine or website would be a dream job. SFX receives hundreds of inquiries a year about job openings or work experience placements. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be paid to review movies or interview TV stars, this panel will give you an insight into the professional life, as editors and columnists from SFX and beyond reveal their tricks of the trade.
The speakers are:
Richard Edwards - deputy editor of SFX magazine
Tara Bennett - author, journalist and SFX 's east coast US editor
Joseph McCabe - associate editor of FEARnet.com, author and SFX 's west coast US editor
Bonnie Burton - author, senior editor and writer at Starwars.com and SFX columnist
The panel will be moderated by Dave Bradley , editor-in-chief of SFX .
There'll be plenty of time for questions so come along and ask the team how they got their first job in the business, what advice they have for aspiring bloggers, what weird and wonderful press junkets they've been on and what surprises lie in store for aspiring journalists.
