Comic adaptation Zombies vs. Robots enlists new writer
Another comic book is edging closer to the big screen, as THR reports that the Zombies vs. Robots adaptation has secured a new writer. Oscar-nominated for his work on Dallas Buyers Club, Craig Borten is now tapping away on Sony’s imagining of the IDW comic - Inherit The Earth.
The original comic, created by Ashley Wood and Chris Ryall, is set in a post-apocalyptic world that’s taken over by zombies. Humanity’s only hope for survival lies in the hands of a team of robots who must protect the last surviving human baby from super-smart flesh-eaters... then clone it.
Borten will rewrite an earlier draft of the sci-fi screenplay penned by Oren Uziel and J.T. Petty, with the film poised to shoot under the directorial eye of Shrek helmer Andrew Adamson. Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes is co-producing with Circle of Confusion, so expect plenty of explosive action when this latest comic adaptation hits the big screen.
