Comic-Con 2011: The gamer's guide to what’s happening

You’ve thoroughly examined the official schedule and probably cursed your inability to be at two places at once by now, but Comic-Con is a big beast that has expanded beyond the walls of the convention center. For the last several years, many companies have taken their wares outside of main area and set up shop in surrounding spaces. Not only that, but the convention floor itself will be filled to the brim with first time hands-on experiences for upcoming titles. Don’t want to miss out on some exclusive Comic-Con gaming experiences? Check out our compiled list of must-see’s.

Future US
Stop by Booth #4445 where our parent company will have an exclusive demo for Inversion, a first look at Darksiders 2 and a giveaway of a Star Trek custom PC worth $8,000. Bonus, you may run into Brett, Chris, Carolyn or Cheryll. Say hi if you do!
Xbox 360
An Xbox Lounge will be set up at the Hard Rock Hotel across the street from the convention center on Saturday and Sunday for fans to get hands-on access to titles like Dance Central 2, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Batman: Arkham City and more.

The Microsoft booth (#5252) will feature a hands-on of the new Horde mode for Gears of War 3.

PlayStation
At Booth #4237 PlayStation will be providing hands-on with games Resistance 3, Starhawk, UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, Journey and Twisted Metal. They’ll also have a custom Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One arcade cabinet to get your grubby hands all over.
Nintendo
Nintendo will have several playable games at Booth #5135 including, but not limited to, Kid Icarus Uprising, Star Fox 64 3D, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Kirby Wii and Rhythm Heaven. Expect daily giveaways.
A special meet-up for Pokémon Black/White players is scheduled for Thursday, July 21st from 4-6pm where people can battle and trade, interact with a giant AR marker of Legendary Pokémon Reshiram and get some sweet giveaways.
BioWare
Starting at the BioWare Base at the Gas Lamp Hilton located directly across from the convention center, Mass Effect fans are encouraged to join the Mass March on Saturday at 6pm. Promising to supply everyone with Omniblades with a special announcement at the end of the march, this could be the one opportunity to build loyalty with a squad of hundreds, maybe thousands.
Capcom
Over at Booth #4844 Capcom will have playable versions of Street Fighter x Tekken, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Asura’s Wrath and more. Fighting game tournaments throughout the weekend with a grand prize of a branded fight stick is planned and cosplayers are encouraged to come by the booth on specific days for promos and discounts.

Twenty demo stations for Capcom fighting games will be set up across the street on M. L. Luther King Promenade directly across from the Hilton Gaslamp Hotel and on Thursday, July 21st at 4pm Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono and Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada will battle it out there over which franchise is the best. The producers will pick 10 fans of each game who will be dressed as either E. Honda or Ganryu and participate in sumo challenges to determine which is the superior franchise.
SEGA
A SEGA Arcade will give folks an opportunity to experience several new titles. Playable games include Captain America: Super Soldier, House of the Dead: OVERKILL - Extended Cut, Guardian Heroes, Rise of Nightmares, Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Renegade Ops, Shinobi, Sonic Generations and more.

Mortal Kombat
Stroll on down to the GameStop near the convention center on Thursday night to get a first shot at playing as a new warrior before it hits DLC. Compete in a tournament for prizes and meet executive producer Ed Boon.
