Common signs on for Suicide Squad
Cameras may already have begun rolling on Suicide Squad, but that hasn't stopped David Ayer's sprawling ensemble from adding another name to its ranks, with Common the latest star to join the production.
The rapper-turned-actor will play an undisclosed role in the film, which recently began filming in Toronto. He joins a cast already loaded with star names, with Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and more set to combine to play some of the biggest rogues in the DC universe.
Speculation persists that Ben Affleck and Jesse Eisenberg could appear as Batman and Lex Luthor respectively, although nothing has been confirmed on that score. With so many characters already jostling for position, any additional cameos might be a bridge too far…
Directed by Ayer and co-starring Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman and Cara Delavingne, Suicide Squad will open in the UK and US on 5 August 2016.
