Company of Heroes 2 multiplayer open beta begins
Keep progress after launch if you buy the game
The Eastern Front is a free-for-all as Company of Heroes 2's open beta has begun. The World War 2-era real-time strategy game's online battles are available free of charge on Steam, up until June 18.
Open-beta players can try the game's unique competitive and co-op modes across six maps and even retain their progression and unlocked commanders, skins, and bulletins--if they purchase the game on the same Steam account within 60 days of launch.
We don't see the beta as available yet, but it should go live on Steam any moment now. The full game has already gone gold and will launch on June 25. Check out our preview of Blitzkrieg mode for more on Company of Heroes 2's solo challenges.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
