Con Air 2 winging its way into production?
Director Simon West fancies it
Con Air isn’t a high-brow work of art. But it is a massive, crowd-pleasing action movie with giant set-pieces and John Malkovich at his crazy-eyed best.
Which is perhaps why director Simon West is suddenly interested in returning to that beefed-up universe with a belated sequel.
While promoting his new movie The Mechanic , West spoke to Crave Online about the possibility of Con Air 2 :
“I’d like to do [ it ]. It’d be great. It’s a matter of getting everybody together. There’s so many people involved and it’s about getting everybody to agree.
“But I’m going to bring it up to Nic[ olas Cage ]. I’m going to put a bug in his ear about it. If the two of us want to do it, we’ll go after the others.”
We're for it, but only if Cage agrees to wear the mullet again. It's a dealbreaker.
