Could Kenneth Branagh have found a Thor?
Alexander Skarsgard is in the running
S uperhero rumours are flying thick and fast again today as word comes that Kenneth Branagh has been taking meetings with actor Alexander Skarsgard… And it could mean he’s the director’s choice to fill Thor’s winged helmet.
Of course, as the guys at Latino Review admit, it’s still nothing more than speculation. Directors take lots of meetings with actors. But to look at the man (yes, he's Stellan's son) – who has appeared in ace Iraq War mini-series Generation Kill and vampire drama True Blood – he feels perfect for the role.
Fellow site IESB has been hearing similar rumours, though they’re throwing GI Joe's Channing Tatum into the mix.
But more interestingly, they’ve also heard that Josh Hartnett has been meeting the director – this time for the role of Thor’s half-brother and arch-enemy Loki.
The site’s sources say Hartnett might be willing to take on his first villainous role, inspired by Heath Ledger’s searing work as the Joker (and that posthumous Oscar can’t have hurt, either).

What do you think? Does Skarsgard look the part? Could Hartnett tackle a villain? Commentary please...
