Craig cast in Cowboys & Aliens
Confirmation of the star’s involvement…
It’s not exactly breaking news, but it’s at least confirmation of what we already kind of knew…
According to Deadline , Daniel Craig has officially signed the dotted line to replace Robert Downey Jr in Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens film adap.
Craig will star as Zeke Jackson, a gunslinger who fights alongside Native Americans when aliens arrive on Earth and attempt to take over the joint.
Promising a mix of out-there action and tongue-in-cheek humour, Cowboys & Aliens could be the start of yet another successful franchise for Craig.
We can’t think of anybody better suited to the role. He’s manly (despite that pout), can handle a gun, isn’t afraid to get his knuckles bruised in a fight scene and also manages to bring humanity to his roles (he was even quite good in the first Tomb Raider , no mean feat).
Hurrah for Danny Boy. With Favreau keen to shoot Cowboys this summer, expect other cast members to jump onboard pretty sharpish.
We're hoping for The Good, The Bad & The Ugly meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers by way of The Searchers .
