Crank trailer!
Jason Statham gets the adrenaline flowing
There are some actors who have a niche. Take Jason Statham: he’s best put to use as a baldy face-spanking bad-ass with a score to settle and, even if Transporter 2 was wide of the mark, we still have a soft spot for the gravel-voiced high-kicker.
So, fingers crossed for a return to form for Statham in bizarre thriller Crank, which sees The Italian Job star playing a ruthless hitman injected with a poison that will kill him if his heart rate drops below a certain level – kinda like bomb-on-the-bus flick Speed, in human form. With his life slipping away, our gun-happy hero decides to use his remaining time on earth offing the nasty men who wielded the needle.
Jase lines up alongside Just Friends star Amy Smart and Panic Room nutjob Dwight Yoakam.
