The Crew, Ubisoft's car MMO, coming to next-gen early 2014
Ubisoft's next-gen driving offering takes the action online
When Ubisoft transitioned from discussing the next generation of gaming, it's first stop was its brand new racing game, The Crew. Made by Reflections, the team behind the Driver franchise, are now making an online game based on similar concepts of high octane racing and infiltrating a criminal operation. Only this time it's a massively multiplayer experience.
The game offers many co-op, competitive, and asynchronous challenges to take online in settings as diverse as Miami, Las Vegas, and South Dakota. The game can be played solo, but its real focus is on teaming up into a crew of racers to take down other, less nice teams of drivers. The game also boasts a ton of customizability for you car, and you can rebuild them on the system or on tablets. The attempt at a seamless racing MMO is planned for next-gen systems early next year.
