Cruise accepts Mission: Impossible 4
Abrams doesn't...
Tom Cruise looks set to reprise his role as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt for Mission: Impossible 4 .
Blog site Deadline is reporting that the deal is done with Cruise also set to produce the film together with Mission: Impossible 3 director J.J. Abrams.
Abrams will not be directing, presumably choosing to sit this one out in favour of focusing on his upcoming Star Trek sequel.
The fourth instalment in the hit action espionage franchise will also be penned by Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemac, who worked with Abrams on the cult TV series Alias .
No director updates just yet, but a certain Mr Blomkamp would be an excellent fit, after his efforts on Best Picture hopeful District 9 - though Abrams does tend to give work to stablemates, so perhaps Cloverfield director Matt Reeves is in line...
