Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiplayer features
CD Projekt Red reveals more about its futuristic open-world RPG
Cyberpunk 2077 will mark a first for CD Projekt Red's burgeoning open-world RPG tradition: multiplayer. CD Projekt Red managing director Adam Badowski revealed the new angle to Eurogamer, but said little more about how it will be implemented.
"It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we're going to add multiplayer features," Badowski said.
The game's open world will span futuristic Night City and other environments. Players will find a bit more creative freedom to define their avatars, with several character classes available instead of a pre-defined hero like The Witcher's Geralt of Rivia.
Speaking of the studio's fantasy franchise, Badowski would only say the team is "thinking about something" for multiplayer in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
What do you think Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer features will have in store when it hits PC and next-gen systems in 2015? A separate-but-connected co-op mode like Mass Effect 3? Spontaneous campaign visitors like Dark Souls? A collectible card game?

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
