Dakota Fanning angry with Hounddog critics
Rape drama controversy continues...
Dakota Fanning has hit back at critics who’ve lambasted her latest project, Hounddog, before the film had even been screened.
Hounddog, which has now been shown at Sundance, was the subject of months of scrutiny by several pressure groups, owing to a scene in which Fanning – still only 12-years-old – is raped by an older boy.
Fanning said, “When it gets to the point of attacking my mother, my agent ... my teacher, who were all on the set that day, that started to make me mad.”
”I can let other things go, but when people start to talk about my mother, like, that's really bad in my opinion... that's an attack, and that's not fair. They hadn't seen the movie,” she added.
“I loved the Elvis Presley story line. I loved the fact she's born of hard circumstances and is trying to survive those,” Fanning continued. “I like so many things about it that had nothing to do with being abused, or sexually abused.”
Cinemagoers can make up there own minds when the film is released later this year.
