Dan Aykroyd confirms Ghostbusters cameo
Dan Aykroyd has spent the better part of the last two decades hyping up the possibility of a third Ghostbusters film, and now that Paul Feig's reboot is finally happening, it seems only right and proper that the franchise's driving force should appear in a cameo role…
Aykroyd posted confirmation of his cameo on his Facebook page, in typically over-excited fashion. "On set of Ghostbusters shooting my scene with the funny and beautiful Kristen Wiig," he enthuses. "Lady GBs are adorable, beautiful…"
The Wrap has also spilled some more details concerning Aykroyd's role, revealing that he won't be playing Ray Stantz, but will instead be a common or garden cab driver. We're still keeping our fingers crossed for a Bill Murray appearance, but nothing has been confirmed on that score as yet…
Directed by Feig and co-starring Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, Ghostbusters will open in the UK on 15 July 2016 and the US on 22 July 2016.
