Daniel Bruhl to play villain in Captain America: Civil War
May also be Doctor Strange’s big bad
Captain America: Civil War might be set to pit Captain America and Iron Man against each other, but there will also be a standalone villain involved, with Daniel Bruhl officially signing on to play the film’s big bad.
It had been thought that Tony Stark might become the nominal villain of the piece, and while that might still be the case, Bruhl will ensure there is a fully fledged “bad guy” on the scene too.
Intriguingly, Variety reports that Bruhl’s character may also be the chief antagonist in Doctor Strange , a revelation that is sure to set the rumour mill into overdrive regarding his identity.
Kevin Feige broke the news on behalf of the studio, saying, “with Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes.”
Intriguing stuff. Captain America: Civil War will hit UK screens on 29 April 2016, before Doctor Strange arrives later that year, on 6 November.
