Daredevil reboot signs director David Slade
From vampires to superheroes
Twilight: Eclipse director David Slade has signed on to direct the Daredevil reboot for 20th Century Fox.
Having proven that he can handle the demands of studios, mega budgets and baying fans with Eclipse , Slade seems like the perfect fit for Daredevil .
Not least because his pre- Twilight days were filled with darker, moodier fare like Hard Candy and 30 Days Of Night.
Variety report that Slade’s Daredevil will hit the reboot button completely, ignoring Ben Affleck’s 2003 film, and spin-off Elektra .
Which sounds fine to us. Though Affleck's film wasn't a complete disaster, it suffered from an uncertain tone and hammy moments - something that Slade should definitely be able to fine tune.
Before he helms Daredevil , though, Slade’s contracted for Dracula-inspired horror The Last Voyage Of The Demeter , which he’ll make with Noomi Rapace.
