Well, this is definitely the strangest cross-promotion in video games I've seen in awhile: UK residents, head into a MEATliquor restaurant from April 4 to 29 and you'll be able to partake in the Dark Souls Wing Challenge, which charges you with eating twenty extremely spicy chicken wings as fast as you can. Because when you think "Dark Souls," you think "hot wings." Okay, maybe only if you're really hungry. But still.
The related press release warns that these wings are so hot that the chef must wear protective gloves and goggles while making them. Contestants will also need to wear protective gloves, as well as sign a waiver before competing. Well, at least it's better than having to face down horrifying undead and other abominations.
So what do you get for all your trouble and the intense heartburn sure to follow? Finish all twenty wings and you'll earn a t-shirt proclaiming "I SURVIVED," while the winner with the fastest time from each restaurant will receive a PS4 and a copy of Dark Souls 3 Collector’s Edition, while the person with the fastest time overall will also receive the Dark Souls 3 Prestige Edition, which includes a Lord of Cinder figurine 40 cm tall.
Far be it from me to tell you whether or not to take on this absurd task, but if you do, I suggest you don't try to hide from the heat by pouring wax into your mouth. That tends to not end well.
