Darren Aronofsky to make Noah
Black Swan director shopping biblical epic
Darren Aronofsky is said to be shopping a script for Noah , a re-telling of the story of Noah’s Ark.
Aronofsky has written the script, with re-writes by John Logan, the scribe behind the likes of The Aviator and Gladiator .
New Regency is said to be co-financing the film, which is looking for a $130 million budget. The likes of Paramount, Fox and Summit are vying to co-finance the other half.
Since dropping out of The Wolverine , Aronofsky is looking to make his next film and with Black Swan grossing $315 million worldwide, he has no shortage of backers.
Deadline says that the story is going to be a “big fantasy epic" which sounds more like his third film, The Fountain , than any other he has created.
Let's hope it's better than Evan Almighty...
