Darren Aronofsky will direct Machine Man
Fate of Wolverine 2 still undecided
Wolverine may have to wait before he can get his claws into director Darren Aronofsky – the Black Swan helmer has just signed on to direct Machine Man .
Based on the online novel by Max Barry, the film will follow a man who gradually replaces his weakened body parts with mechanical fandangles. Looks like Aronofsky will get to direct a version of RoboCop after all.
Wolverine 2 , though, is set to shoot in March 2011. While Aronofsky hasn’t been officially confirmed as director by 20th Century Fox, star and friend Hugh Jackman let the news slip last week.
So will Machine Man shoot after the comic book sequel? Considering the amount of prep a movie generally requires, we can’t imagine something as ambitious as Machine Man will be ready to go in front of the camera before next summer. There’s hope yet for Aronofsky’s stab at Wolvie, then.
