David Fincher in talks to direct Steve Jobs biopic
Script has been written by Aaron Sorkin
David Fincher could be about to reunite with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, with Variety reporting that the director is in talks to helm a new Steve Jobs biopic.
Sorkin has been on board the project for a couple of years now, having decided to present the material in a rather distinctive way…
“I hope I don’t get killed by the studio for giving too much away,” said Sorkin in an interview with The Daily Beast , “but this entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real time.”
“Each of these three scenes is going to take place before a product launch - backstage before a product launch. The first one being the Mac, the second one being NeXT, and the third one being the iPod.”
Last time Fincher and Sorkin teamed up for a techie biopic, it was for the excellent The Social Network , so we’ve got high hopes for this one. Providing of course that Fincher signs on the dotted line…
