Dead Rising "cameo" found in Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing
Frank West doesn't show, but his final message to Otis does
If you've started playing Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing, the long-awaited DLC campaign that dropped today,you might have alreadynoticeda little Easter egg Valve smuggled into the second chapter. If you haven't, though, there's a quick shout-out to Dead Rising,hidden amid the graffiti, that you might want to take a look at.
Scrawled on a wall near a lone pool table are the following words:
Otis,
Out of film, No Helicopter
Zombies are too Fast
Not Going to Make it.

It's not as cool as an actual cameo by war photographer/inveterate zombie-puncher/occasional cross-dresserFrank West (or annoying walkie-talkie operator Otis, for that matter)would have been, but it's nonetheless cool to see one stalwart of the zombie-killing genre salute another.
Of course, if it had been up to us, Otis would have been left a slightly different message:
