Deadman at Warner Bros
DC Comics’ crime-halting hero set for big screen debut
Well, it seems every comic book on the shelf isn’t safe from the eager hands of Hollywood right now and the latest graphic novel to be gobbled up by Tinseltown is DC Comics’ Deadman.
The tale begins when circus high-wire swinger Boston Brand is murdered during a show by an assailant only known as Hook. His spirit is granted a stay on earth to fight crime and track down his killer and given the power to possess living beings by a Hindu goddess called Rama Kushna.
Holding the purse strings are the people at Angryfilms, along with Hellboy helmer Guillermo del Toro – it’s not clear yet whether del Toro will take up directing duties on the project.
The producers are currently putting their energies into tracking down a screenwriter to give Deadman a modern day edge.
