Deadpool 2 is bringing back three fan-favourite characters from the original movie
If you’ve been impatiently waiting for Deadpool 2 casting news then it’s time to finally cool your chimichangas as three fan-favourite characters from the original Deadpool will be returning in the sequel.
Speaking to Collider, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick confirmed that Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead will “make at least an appearance” in Deadpool 2.
Having hindered (and then helped) the Merc with a Mouth’s quest for revenge in the first movie, it’s unclear whether they’ll play a big role in the upcoming sequel - especially as the original was so keen to poke fun at the limitations behind the use of X-Men characters.
Reese and Wernick have been pulling double duty, though, and confirmed in an interview with Nerdist that Dopinder the long-suffering (and slightly psychotic) taxi driver will appear, with Wernick joking, “We got to get him his own spin-off.” Who’s up for a Dopinder and Deadpool road trip comedy?
Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release in 2018.

I'm the Senior Entertainment Writer here at GamesRadar+, focusing on news, features, and interviews with some of the biggest names in film and TV. On-site, you'll find me marveling at Marvel and providing analysis and room temperature takes on the newest films, Star Wars and, of course, anime. Outside of GR, I love getting lost in a good 100-hour JRPG, Warzone, and kicking back on the (virtual) field with Football Manager. My work has also been featured in OPM, FourFourTwo, and Game Revolution.
Spider-Man 4 may include a Marvel heroine although Sony cannot confirm it will be Anya Taylor-Joy as Black Cat, says boss: "There’s a lot of fantastic female characters, but I can't talk about all this"
Marvel Rivals made Jeff the Land Shark so stinkin' adorable that the MCU is bringing him on as an official hero: "We're all Jeff fans around here. Man is he fun to play"
