How to start the Death Stranding Director's Cut missions
Where to find the new Death Stranding missions
If you want to find the Death Stranding Director's Cut mission you'll discover they're hidden away in a very Kojima way. They can can only be accessed via a way that's easy to miss, and will require jumping though a few hoops to get started.
It's basically not obvious and without help the extra Death Stranding Director's Cut missions can be hard to find. So let's me show you where to look and what you need to do to find it all. And, if you need more help generally then I've got some Death stranding tips to guide you through just about everything.
How to start the new Death Stranding Director's Cut missions
If you're starting the Death Stranding Director's Cut from the start on Xbox you'll have to complete the first eight missions before you can access the new quests. On PlayStation, however, if you're start from an exported PS4 save and are past that point, Die-Hardman will appear with a message as soon as you load up.
The Death Stranding Director's Cut missions can only be accessed from the Distribution Center West of Capitol Knot City in the Eastern Region of Death Stranding. It can be easy to miss that, and without that knowledge get lost working out what to do next. So, before you can start you'll need to get there, by yourself or by using Death Stranding fast travel.
Once you're at the Distribution Center you'll be able to collect the mission 'Collection: Cargo Discovered in the Ruined Factory'. You'll notice it says a Maser gun is recommended, a new addition to the Death Stranding weapons list, but don't worry about that as you'll be given as soon as you accept the job.
Once you've accepted 'Cargo Discovered in the Ruined Factory' objective, all you have to do is reach the right area on the map. So leave the Distribution Center and head out to the right - you can see the marker on the map for guidance but also look out for the ruined structure on top the the mountain as a landmark as that's the Ruined Factory you're heading for. It's near the Luden's Fan bunker.
At the top you'll be able to fight some Mules and test the Maser. Once they're all gone head inside the structure. You won't be able to open the door you find inside at this point, so just get the Ruined Factory data from the post box next to it.
This will basically start the Director's Cut Death Stranding missions. Take the data back to the Distribution Center and you'll be able to pick up a new mission to back to the Ruined Factory, this time with the door open and get more data, and so on. At this point you just have to follow the objectives to see the new missions and unlock the new stuff that comes with it like music and BB pod customization.
Obviusly this new content will change the question of 'How long to beat Death Stranding?' but won't affect your ability to reach the Death Stranding ending if you want to tick off the main campaign.
