Del Toro off to the Carnival
Mexican helmer set to shoot dark fantasy
Murdered fairies, far-out freaks and a detective on the edge… we told you about Killing On Carnival Row a little while back. Well now it’s a step closer to your cinema screen.
Mexican lenser Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy) has been deep in talks to develop and handle the megaphone duties for the twisted fantasy tale from first time scriber Travis Beacham since last November.
Set against the backdrop of a Victorian-style gothic city, where creatures and humans walk side by side, there is a murderer on the loose. Preying on the fairies and creatures, it’s up to a human detective to find out who or what is responsible.
Things are further complicated when he becomes the prime suspect in the killings and must battle to get his life back.
