Desperate for Star Wars 8 answers? Daisy Ridley says you had plenty in The Force Awakens
If you’re anything like me, you’ve gone over every piece of Star Wars 8 news again and again looking for something – anything – that points towards the mysteries of Rey’s past and lineage. Well, we’ve been looking in the wrong place all along. Daisy Ridley reckons the answers we’ve all been waiting for are probably in The Force Awakens.
Speaking to Time Out, Ridley says she “thought a lot was answered in The Force Awakens,” but everyone she has spoken to hasn’t quite figured it out, including her agent. Maybe Ridley does have a way with the Force – but she’s urged fans to be patient and keep on looking for clues.
“I think curiosity is a wonderful thing,” Ridley says, presumably while winking at the camera, and goes on to explain the big question of just who Rey’s parents are will be revealed in the sequels: “A guy asked to take a picture with me and asked ‘Is Luke your dad?’ and I was like, ‘Chill out. You’ll see!’”
But if you think who Rey’s mum and dad are is the end to the mystery then think again, as Ridley warned, “With answers come more questions, and there's definitely going to be enough to keep people going for another two years!”
It’s time to start going over The Force Awakens frame-by-frame again before the as-yet-untitled Star Wars 8 hits next year.
Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: Episode 8 opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
