Be thankful you don't live in the Destiny universe. There's the whole "end of humanity" thing happening, of course, but even traditionally happy times of the year are full of violence. Case in point: instead of Valentine's Day, the Guardians of Destiny will partake in "Crimson Days," during which they can compete in a special 2v2 Crucible mode. Forget chocolate, help your special someone earn a killing spree.
Bungie announced the seasonal event earlier today with scant few details confirmed, but here's what we know: starting February 9 and lasting for one week, there will be a new Crucible mode called "Crimson Doubles" that pits two teams of two Guardians against each other. As you can see above, it looks like things are going to get pretty romantic. Just look at all those rose petals.
Expect more details as we get closer to that most Hallmark of holidays. For now, just know that love can bloom on the battlefield.

Destiny 2 players were right: Bungie confirms an issue "in our code" making some god roll guns harder to get, and says it has already identified a potential fix
Denied their crafting fix, Destiny 2 players got so unlucky that they started conspiracy theories about the MMO's drop rates, and got so loud Bungie had to correct them
