Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location December 18-20. Heart of the Praxic Fire!
Xur, Destiny's weekend merchant, amateur florist, and passionate advocate of Esperanto, is back in the Tower. This week, he’s down in the lounge bar, furiously trying to regain the top slot on the Pac-Man machine. If you've got a fistful of Strange Coins, get down there and see what he’s got.
Or actually, don’t. Read the below guide, and then decide whether you want to bother. This week, he has…
- An Insurmountable Skullfort (Exotic Titan helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
- Achlyophage Symbiote (Exotic Hunter helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
- Heart of the Praxic Fire (Exotic Warlock chest armour) – 13 Strange Coins
- Legacy Engram (Special weapon engram) – 31 Strange Coins
- Hard Light (Exotic auto rifle) – 23 Strange Coins
- Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins
- Glass Needle - 3 Strange Coins
Star of the show? Heart of the Praxic Fire, easily. Sunsinging Warlocks, if you don’t already have one of these, get one immediately. Grossly improving the recharge rate on your melee and grenades during Radiance, it will turn you into a destructive monster as standard, and if you have your build specially tuned for cooldown efficiency already – and the Flame Shield perk set up – it will evolve you into a bona fide Sherman tank. It also buffs your agility, and the name of its key perk is a reference to Dark Souls. Basically, all the points for Heart of the Praxic Fire.
The rest of the armour? If you’re a melee-focused Titan, then the Insurmountable Skullfort is pretty tasty. It will give you more Super energy for any melee kill, and trigger instant health regeneration when you get a Storm Fist kill. Also, you’ll get two melee charges for the price of one. Mmm, punchy. And the Hunter’s Achylophage Symbiote is pretty strong too, giving you an extra shot for every Golden Gun charge, which amounts to 30% extra damage on an already very damaging Super.
As for Hard Light though, don’t bother unless you’re an obsessive gun collector. It’s over-penetration and ricocheting shots are a gimmicky main perk (and not exactly something you can’t find elsewhere) and the rest of its performance is pretty average.
As ever, Xur will be in the Tower until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, when he'll vanish for the week. So make sure you stock up while you can.
