Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, January 22 - 24. The Ram!
Xur, Destiny's weekend merchant, eager rural conservationist, and sometime cruise ship dance instructor, is back in the Tower. He's down in the Vanguard hall, deliberately annoying Zavala by humming the Duke Nukem theme just loud enough to be noticable. In the market for new Exotics? Have a fistful of Strange Coins and an unerring tolerance for disappointment? Get over and see him. This week he’s selling:
- Mk. 44 Stand Asides – (Exotic Titan Leg Armour) - 13 Strange Coins
- Sealed Ahamkara Grasps – (Exotic Hunter Gauntlets) - 13 Strange Coins
- The Ram - (Exotic Warlock Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
- Legacy Gauntlet Engram - 29 Strange Coins
- Exotic Body Armour Engram - 19 Strange Coins
- Three of Coins - 7 Strange Coins
- Glass Needle - 3 Strange Coins
Warlocks are the big winners the week. The Ram – not to be confused with the awful Stag, which is solely for posers, and those desperately insecure about their height – is a pretty tasty Exotic helmet. It boosts your armour at a base level, and also ensures that every Voidwalker melee comes with Life Drain, where or not your meter is charged at all. That means that every slap you deal out will get you a small amount of health recovery and an instant shield regen, which will be entirely unswayed by incoming damage. As tanking solutions go, it’s a pretty damn powerful one.
The other stuff? Eh. The Hunter Gauntlets are a bit guff, giving you an extra melee charge for each meter filled, and, er, not much else. Okay, they also have a chance of reloading your gun with each hit, but that’s basically it. And it’s not too exciting. The Mk. 44 Stand Asides aren’t terrible, increasing your athleticism with an increased duration on your Shoulder Charge and giving you a tighter turning circle while sprinting, but you’d be hard pushed to justify giving up an Exotic slot to use them.
As ever, Xur will be in the Tower until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, when he'll vanish for another week. So make sure you stock up while you can. Not that you’ll probably want to this week. But who knows, maybe you hate money.
