Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, November 27-29. The 4th Horseman!
Xur, Destiny’s travelling weekend trader, storied symphony violinist, and aficionado of rad ‘80s skateboarding movies, is back in the Tower. This week, he’s in the Hall of Guardians, over on the right, just stinking the place up. Literally. He’s usually a desperately fragrant chap, but long trade routes and a scheduling mishap mean that he hasn’t had a shower for the last seven light years. Zavala is furious. But anyway, on to what he’s selling:
- The 4th Horseman [Exotic shotgun] – 23 Strange Coins
- Helm of Saint-14 (Exotic Titan Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
- Crest of Alpha Lupi (Exotic Hunter chest armour) - 13 Strange Coins
- Light Beyond Nemesis (Exotic Warlock Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
- Legacy special weapon Engram - 31 Strange Coins
- Three of Coins - 7 Strange Coins
- Glass Needle – 3 Strange Coins + 1 Exotic Shard
Ah crap, there goes the Crucible… The newly-upgraded year two version of The 4th Horseman is an absolute beast of a close-range PvP weapon. Comprising four barrels, it can - somehow - fire five rounds, and do so on full-auto. The upshot? This thing puts out an insane amount of damage in a deliriously short amount of time. Just hold the trigger, and whatever’s in front of you will die. It’s not the easiest thing to control, what with five shotgun rounds coming out pretty much all at once, but if you can tame it, you’ll have a small apocalypse in your hands. Needless to say, it’s a killer emergency solution during tough PvE fights as well, facilitating last-ditch rushdown tactics on even the most stubborn majors (and sometimes ultras).
Otherwise? The armour selection isn’t bad. The Crest of Alpha Lupi is a solid support choice, providing faster revives for both yourself and team-mates, and spawning more orbs when you fire off your super. The Light Beyond Nemesis basically does the same thing for Warlocks, and the Helm of Saint-14 blinds enemies who walk into your Ward of Dawn bubble-shield. Not an essential skill choice, but one that certainly helps when getting mobbed during hectic boss battles.
If nothing there takes your fancy, remember that, as ever, Xur’s selection of buffs includes Three of Coins, which repeatedly increases your chances of getting an Exotic when going up against ultras. It’s comparatively dirt-cheap, so you should always load up on it.
As per usual, Xur will be in the Tower until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, when he'll vanish for another week, so make sure you stock up while you can.
