Destiny: Xur weapons, gear and location, September 2-4. The Last Word!
It's Friday and that means we get to say hello to the truly wonderful Destiny retailer that is Xur. He's spent the week doing customer service training so is all hopped up on 'Guardians always being right' mantras and there's definitely a sparkling grin going on behind all those tentacles.
But what does Xur have this week and where is he? First off, there's no need to trek all the way over to the Reef. He's happily settled in the Tower Hangar. What's that you say? Does Xur have the Year 2 version of one of the game's best hand cannons for sale today? Why yes, yes he does. That and a lot of new headgear.
• Eternal Warrior (Exotic Titan Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
• Knucklehead Radar (Exotic Hunter Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
• Obsidian Mind (Exotic Warlock Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
• The Last Word (Exotic Hand Cannon) - 23 Strange Coins
• Legacy Engram - 31 Strange Coins
• Three of Coins - 7 Strange Coins
• Glass Needle - 3 Strange Coins
Ironically I'll start with The Last Word. One of the strongest hand cannons in Year One, it's still absolutely killer in Year Two. The Fan Fire perk means you've got a seriously deadly fire rate to spray bullets all over the place, and if you fancy feeling like a proper gunslinger, you'll get bonus accuracy firing from the hip with the accurately named 'Hip Fire' perk. Ideal for the Crucible, The Last Word is exceptionally deadly in the right hands and deserves a slot in your Exotic arsenal.
Looking at all that shiny headwear, the Titan's Eternal Warrior helmet is certainly pretty Roman and noble and it's not a bad offering if you're a Striker. It hands over the Unstoppable perk for your Fist of Havoc so not a bad choice for PvP.
Knucklehead Radar for Hunters is pretty special for PvP too as it means you won't miss any of the action as it keeps your Radar active with its Sensor Pack when you're aiming your primary weapons. This perk's not to be sniffed at for PvE either and if you're not a fan of shooting other players then there's the bonus super energy for non-Guardian kills perk. That's obviously not exclusive to this particular helmet but still handy.
And, finally, Warlocks could do a lot worse than Obsidian Mind. If you're a Voidwalker, killing with your Nova Bomb will reduce cooldown time and, just like the Knucklehead Radar, you'll get bonus super energy for PvE play as you take down all those pesky non-Guardians.
