Destiny's Red Bull promotion has been hacked
If it wasn't already irritating enough that Red Bull drinkers get an exclusive quest in Destiny The Taken King, then the fact that the codes are being scammed online makes things even more infuriating for Destiny fans. Posts on Reddit have been reporting that many can's codes haven't been working because they have been hacked.
Due to a weakness in the initial numbers used, random generators have been manipulated to create infinite codes for the Bonus XP. People are even creating programs to make their own. This all makes the associated preprinted cans redundant. In other words, a serious problem.
The Taken King cans of Red Bull can only be purchased at 7-Eleven stores in the US and Walmart so many people have been justifying their use of the codes as they can't get to these stores. How Red Bull and Activision will respond to this is unclear. That Dying Light drink water for DLC promotion is looking more and more attractive, isn't it?
