DiCaprio may play James Bond's creator
The name’s Fleming. Ian Fleming…
He’s played eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes and famed con man Frank Abagnale, and Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t done playing real-life characters if one of his new projects is any indication.
He’s signed on to produce (for now) Fleming, which will follow the life of Ian Fleming, the author who created James Bond. Damian Stevenson has written the script and producer Andrew Lazar blabbed to the LA Times about it : "It's going to be very different from the Bond films. There are a lot of different ways to crack biopics, but we're not trying to emulate a Bond movie. The idea that this guy's life informed the James Bond character is pretty fascinating."
DiCaprio hasn’t signed on to play the lead just yet, but Fleming is certainly an intriguing character – chances are if he likes the way the script develops, he’ll leap into the man’s suit.
