25 video game characters and their uncanny lookalikes

Revolver Ocelot (Metal Gear Solid) & Edward Wade (Hitman: Absolution)

A game chaacter who looks like another game character? Okay, so from this point on, things don't strictly fit the remit I set out at the beginning (like, at all), but we're going to run with it anyway, because a few of these are more than a bit eyebrow-raising. Anyway, more Hitman: Absolution characters? Why, yes, they are starting to add up, arent they? Either someone in the IO Interactive art department is an obsessive Metal Gear fan, or Square-Enix isn't paying them nearly enough to be original. Whatever the case, ol' Revolver and Eddie Wade share far more than just looks. Both are pronounced sadists, whose true loyalties remain something of a mystery.

Liza Snow (Far Cry 3) & Lara Croft (Tomb Raider 2013)

Two twenty-something women trapped on two equally nightmarish islands. The only difference here is how both characters respond to their grim situations. Lara becomes a one-woman wrecking crew, routinely running, gunning and climbing her way to the very top of the food chain. Liza, by contrast, opts for the slightly more realistic tactic of 'cowering in a cave'. She does, however, display a good deal of guts in driving Jason and herself to safety following their botched execution. Not just a pretty face, or in fact, another incredibly similar pretty face.

Centurian Metalhead (Jak 2) & Halo Elites/Jackals

Gee, I wonder where Naughty Dog gained the inspiration for this bruising beast? Half-Jackal, half-Elite, the Centurian Metalhead proves itself to be far less feisty than either of its progenitors, typically giving up the ghost after just one or two shots. A pale imitation indeed.

Nadanova (007: Everything or Nothing) & The Boss (Metal Gear Solid 3)

A baddy posing as a goody and a goody posing as a baddy, Nadanova and The Boss certainly do like to keep our heroes on their toes. They also share aa appreciation for silvery space suits, as well as a strong fondness for the wrong sort of men. It never ends well

Redhead scientist (Ratchet & Clank) & Gordon Freeman (Half-Life series)

Short, yet messy hair? Check. Beard? Check. Relatively thick, scholarly black glasses? Check. Lab coat. Meh, sort of check. Gordon probably had one in his locker at Black Mesa before it all went down. These two planet-hopping scientists certainly look alike, but neither has much in the way of a personality to compare. In terms of their actions, though? One tests weapons on the planet Quartu, the other on the unfortunate denizens of the Xen galaxy. Close enough...

Hunter Alpha (Resident Evil) & The Battletoads (er, Battletoads)

Both the Hunter Alpha and Battletoad creatures are the result of scientific meddling. However, where the former were created in a lab environment - combining reptile, human and 'zombie' DNA - the latter were once regular joes, transformed into toads while out investigating an evil computer programmer. Talk about a raw deal.

Face me!

Phew, I'm exhausted. Dennis Quaid didn't stop chasing me for miles. If you have any more suggestions for video gaming dopplegangers, or you simply want to yell at me for getting all of these ones 'wrong', scroll on down to the comments section below. Vent thine spleen, and vent it good. Adios.
