Disney confirms Frozen 2 is officially in the works
After its staggering box office success and rabid cult following, it should come as no surprise to learn that Frozen is getting an official sequel, as confirmed by Disney last night.
The sequel will once more be helmed by co-directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, while Josh Gad will reprise his role as Olaf the snowman.
No further details have been officially confirmed as yet, but we’d expect a good proportion of the original cast to return, given the phenomenon the franchise has now become.
“We enjoyed making Frozen Fever so much and being back in that world with those characters,” said John Lasseter in an official press release announcing the news.
“Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
No release date has been confirmed as yet.
