Disney reveals impressive-looking ATV racer
Strangely named 'Pure' aims to set new standards for offroad racers - first screens arrive
Pure is a new off-road ATV racing game in development at Black Rock Studios, known for its Moto GP games and the ATV Offroad Fury series. Check out thefirst screenshots.
Unlike Black Rock's usual simulation approach, Pure is an "extreme sports" arcade racer that'll allow you to perform huge exaggerated jumps and "gravity-defying" tricks.
"Pure takes quad racing to a new level, featuring massive jumps and spectacular airborne tricks in memorable, photo-realistic settings all over the globe," says Disney.
"Featuring never-before-seen, vertigo-inducing massive aerial jumps in real-world quad locations, Pure delivers heart-pounding off-road racing unique to the genre."
Colin McRae Dirt is the off-road racing favourite of the moment, but Disney has high hopes for Pure. Disney's senior VP of global marketing, Craig Relyea, said: "We expect Pure to set a new standard for off-road racing that delivers adrenaline-inducing vertical experiences with spectacular aerial tricks and intense wheel-to-wheel racing."
Players take control of a dare-devil racer from an selection of characters, and hit the dirt tracks to take on computer opponents, or jump online for 16-player racing against fellow humans.
The game's due to hit PS3, 360 and PC in fall this year.
