District 9 director and star to reunite for Elysium
Neill Blomkamp’s new sci-fi
District 9 duo Neill Blomkamp and Sharlto Copley are reuniting for new sci-fi action movie Elysium .
The pair made waves last year with their political spin on typical alien movies, generating one of the most talked about films of 2009 in District 9 .
So it’s good to hear that they’re sticking to similar sci-flick terrain as their first gig.
No story info has been released yet, other than that Elysium will be set on another planet in the distant future. Will it be connected to Blomkamp’s recent odd viral video ? No word on that, either.
Deadline report that a number of studios are interested in Elysium , with a graphic novel based on the film also thought to be part of the deal.
Copley will next be seen in Men In Black III , which opens May 2012. Unless you buy The A-Team on DVD first, that is.
