DJ Caruso could go for A Walk Among The Tombstones
Disturbia director in talks for adap
Disturbia and I Am Number Four director DJ Caruso is in talks to direct an adaptation of Lawrence Frank's novel A Walk Among The Tombstones .
Which comes as a bit of a surprise, considering Caruso is also signed on to helm the movie version of comic book Preacher – a hefty project that should surely be draining all of his manpower.
Tombstones follows two men who kidnap the women of drug dealers and demand ransoms for their return.
Enter private investigator Scudder (a role a young Harrison Ford was once interested in), who agrees to help a dealer when his wife is killed by the kidnappers.
It’s a dark premise, but Frank’s tomes are filled with vibrant characterisation and labyrinthine plot twists – exactly the reasons Hollywood’s been tango-ing with an adaptation for years.
According to Deadline , Minority Report writer Scott Frank will write the script, and will be going for an R-rated tone.
